There were a lot of in depth questions on the test that the videos alone would not have prepared me for. I would recommend watching all of them, but definitely supplement the videos with a book. His explanations and short 3 question quizzes at the end of each video were a good review. Professor Messer's videos were a really helpful resource as well. This book was much more challenging than the Meyers book and I think it really helped me prepare for the test. This made it difficult to check answers from a mobile device. The answers to these are in the back in Appendix A and B, respectively. Each chapter also included a sample simulation question, often asking you to explain a process. These quizzes were much harder than the Meyers book. At the end of each chapter there were 20 question quizzes. This book also admitted that it was published before the test so I believe it was a less accurate representation of what was actually on the test. This book went into even more details than the Meyers book, included obscure cooling methods such as liquid helium used for setting overclocking records.

The book is divided into two sections the first half of the book is for the first test (801) and the second half of the book is for the second test (802). The Complete Study Guide was a good resource. Also the answers to the 10 questions in the end of chapter reviews are on the very next page so its easy to flip back and forth between. I would recommend this book if you are planning on studying for both tests simultaneously. Just about every chapter included information for both tests. Also, the book is organized by topic rather than by test so it was impossible to use the book to study for one test (801) then study for the other (802). I found the Meyers book was really detailed and involved a lot of extra information that wasn't on the test. #PROFESSOR MESSER A 801 SERIES#
This test has been the first step in a long series of smaller steps for me, starting with the A+, then N+ and S+. I'm planning to move back to the USA (to Boston) next year and start my career in IT. I wanted to thank everyone in this thread who has been incredibly helpful over the past few weeks. r/CompTIA holds no responsibility for certification nullification which may be caused by visiting links submitted to this subreddit.ĭO NOT POST LINKS TO BRAINDUMPS OR PIRATED SOFTWARE/VIDEOS.
